Solid navy, red, khaki, white and black are the usual go-to choices for umbrellas. It's commonly understood that these rain-defying contraptions should be muted, understated, subtle, and invisible. The existence of umbrellas are secretive – for the most part, they are stowed away in a dark, musty closet. Yet, in one rainy afternoon's lavish display of the lunchtime crowd's umbrella repertoire, our graphic designer, Felicia Yap exclaimed, "Why do we use these umbrellas? They are so dull!" Here, five vibrant umbrellas to lift this monsoon season's dreary, rainy days.
