A Rebirth of Bottega Veneta's Knot

By Gregory Woo

Bottega Veneta has always been about quiet luxury, with brand signatures such as the intrecciato (basket woven) leather and the equally recognisable knot clasp, which, until recently, was exclusively reserved for the brand's "knot" clutch. This season, the simple emblem of a knotted woven leather rope gets a reinvention and new real estate on the brand's new line of bags.

While this new iteration maintains the charm and simplicity of the icon, it is turned on its side and reimagined as a twist-lock clasp on the Olimipia Knot and the City Knot. The former is a handsome quilted shoulder bag with an adjustable chain strap and the latter, satchel-style flap bag with three roomy compartments hidden behind its structured body.
