Hublot Big Bang Tutti Frutti Purple

Ching/ Tok Wei LunThe Hublot Big Bang Tutti Frutti Linen Purple, S$22,300.

The Big Bang collection is a chameleon at the heart of Hublot, as its uncomplicated aesthetic makes it the perfect canvas for new designs. For more than 10 years, this core collection has proved its style- shifting powers: The classic steel iteration is an elegant yet tough everyday watch, while the Caviar with diamonds makes for a great conversation starter at cocktail parties. The Tutti Frutti Linen (pictured, one of four colours available), is quick to call forth images of summer holidays with its zesty colours. What’s special about this model is the hand-woven linen fabric, synonymous with resort wear, which isn’t just used for its strap — it also features on the frame and dial of the watch. A special weaving process that incorporates a transparent composite makes this a perfect alternative to carbon fibre and it’s comparable in mechanical strength too. Linen is also much lighter in weight and can be rendered in numerous shades — just take a look at the watches. Limited to 200 pieces per colour.
