Do you remember the star amongst Rolex’s offerings at Baselworld last year? It was the Rolex “Pepsi” GMT- Master II in Oystersteel, a two-toned (half red, half blue) ceramic bezel and a Jubilee bracelet. This year, Rolex unveiled a new take on the GMT- Master II “Pepsi” watch, which, while keeping its bi-colour bezel, sports an Oyster bracelet, is in white gold and shows off a dial featuring meteorite. While the use of meteorite is not entirely new for Rolex (the material has made appearances on the brand’s Cosmograph Daytona and Datejust timepieces), it is the first time that it’s incorporated into a GMT timepiece. Every piece of meteorite collected is one-of-a- kind — it’s from outer space, after all — and so it is with this version of the GMT-Master II.
