Real Madrid's Belgian shot-stopper, Thibaut Courtois is set to join the world of online gaming by launching TC Esports. This move marks yet another step for the Belgian footballer's passion for virtual competition and motorsports. This is Courtouis' first major involvement in the esports sector, since becoming a shareholder in the Spanish esports organization DUX Gaming in 2020.

TC Esports will initially debut by participating in the online racing sim scene which is rapidly gaining global popularity in the esports community. Online gaming and esports continue to flourish with groundbreaking innovations worldwide, so the demand for esports betting platforms will only continue to rise. According to sports betting expert Jamie Wright, some of the best platforms for esports betting in Singapore are increasingly appealing for their free bet bonuses, odds boosts, ongoing promotions, loyalty programs, and welcome bonuses, meaning players can engage with virtual sports as much as physical ones, and enjoy the same benefits when betting on them.

Adding to this, Courtouis's TC Esports aims to highlight the increasing overlap between traditional sports and competitive online gaming. The announcement of TC Esports is a product of the success that Courtius's real-life motorsports team, TC Racing has experienced since being established in 2023. TC Racing is currently competing in the F4 Spanish Championship and the Prodigy Racing League, a unique "e2Real" competition that combines both digitally simulated and real-world racing. Courtois involvement in the motorsport world is helping to bridge the gap between physical and digital racing, creating opportunities for talented races across both formats.

Courtois has been a long-time fan of sim racing and has even participated in several virtual competitions himself such as Virtual F1 which was an online racing event organised by Formula 1 in 2021.

When the Belgian footballer was interviewed during his TC Esports launch, he shared his motivations behind what inspired him to form his esports team. Courtois said that he has two racing simulators at home and tries to play them as much as possible between his footballing responsibilities. He added that he had always wanted to own an eSports team and how sim racing has the potential to open many doors in the world of motorsport, which is something he and his team plan on achieving together.

To ensure TC Esports hits the ground running, Courtois has brought in Javier Guerra, an experienced figure in the esports sector. Before joining TC Esports, Guerra led Williams Racing's esports arm, William's Esport, from 2018 until he decided to part ways earlier this year. With Javier Guerra on board, TC Esport's debut promises to be an exciting one.

With the launch of TC Esports, Courtois has now joined a list of footballing superstars who have founded their own esports teams. Other footballers include Gerard Pique's KOI, Sergio Aguero's KRÜ, and Courtois's former teammate Casemiro's Case Esports.
